YesMiami University’s Physician Associate Studies program is seeking a Simulation and Human Anatomy Lab Coordinator to oversee the operations and technical requirements of its medical science learning environments. The successful candidate will manage high-fidelity clinical simulation technology and audiovisual systems while ensuring the proper maintenance and ethical handling of cadaver specimens in accordance with industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot simulation technology, including high-fidelity clinical simulators and audiovisual equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of cadaver specimens and provide assistance with prosection requirements in the laboratory and morgue settings.
  • Coordinate pre-simulation and laboratory activities, including the testing of medical equipment, placement of props/instruments, and application of moulage.
  • Execute simulation-based education sessions by recording or streaming activities and manipulating simulated patient vitals based on facilitator input.
  • Provide ad-hoc technical troubleshooting and advice for scenario interventions during active learning sessions.
  • Manage post-simulation activities, including laboratory sanitization, equipment sterilization, and the appropriate storage and preservation of specimens.
  • Collaborate with faculty to evaluate learner performance and assist facilitators with video-assisted debriefing sessions.
  • Maintain the logistics of materials, storerooms, and inventory levels for items such as gloves, linens, and clinical supplies.
  • Ensure the laboratory environment is clean and organized, including clinical equipment, computer stations, and cadaver storage units.
  • Identify and report preventable hazards or unsafe practices to the supervisor immediately to ensure personal and student safety.
  • Provide professional feedback to team members and management regarding cost reduction, alternative education strategies, and process improvements.
  • Assist with other duties related to didactic and clinical education

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a science field or health science/health professions discipline.

Consideration may be given to applicants with experience in higher education; direct patient care skills; experience as a mortuary attendant or diener; demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
