The Human Resources Manager position provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to coach and lead the people and culture efforts during the pre-opening and launch for Silver Dollar City Resort. This position is responsible for directing and leading the development and implementation of strategic human resources initiatives that support recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, and compliance. Of primary importance in this role is the ability to partner with leaders to build, guide, and support a high-performing team while fostering a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace. To achieve success in this role, one must drive results while adhering to our Heartspitality® culture.
Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Support HR operations including employee relations, benefits communication, and policy administration in coordination with the Director of Human Resources.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on policies, conflict resolution, and performance improvement.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.
- Support full-cycle recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Curate a recruitment strategy that attracts candidates who embody warmth, creativity, and hospitality.
- Lead culture initiatives that bring Silver Dollar City Resort mission to life daily.
- Maintain accurate employee files, HRIS data, and documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Track onboarding effectiveness and early retention.
- Monitor turnover trends and identify root causes.
- Foster a culture where employees feel trusted, heard, and empowered to create guest moments.
- Support annual performance review processes and goal-setting frameworks.
- Coach leaders on team development, accountability, and communication best practices.
- Identify high performers and support succession planning.
- Help build a diverse, inclusive workplace where every team member feels welcomed and valued.
- Monitor and track employee training progress and certification statuses, maintaining accurate documentation in the learning management system (LMS).
- Partner with leaders to deliver role-specific and service excellence training.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, training manuals, and internal communication materials.
- Support conflict resolution efforts and participate in internal investigations as needed.
- Participate in HR audits and compliance reviews to ensure proper recordkeeping and adherence to labor laws.
- Represent the hotel in local job fairs, hospitality schools, or workforce development initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements (FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
- Strong facilitation skills and the ability to present both frontline employees and senior leadership.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and performance management tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to coach managers and employees, resolve conflicts, and influence positive workplace culture.
- A passion for service, people development, and creating a culture of joy.

- Perform desk and computer work for extended periods, including reviewing documents, entering information, and maintaining HR records.

- Ability to frequently climb stairs and walk on uneven, wet, or sloped surfaces.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform other physical movements as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity to participate in activities that may involve job fairs, orientations, and Host events.
- Operate standard office equipment and access files, supplies, and training materials.
