Job Description

As a Merchandise Team Member, you will work in one of the 60 plus unique shops that call Silver Dollar City home. You will provide friendly, outgoing service to our guests and keep the shop clean and stocked properly. But this isn’t your typical job in retail. Sure, we always have souvenirs from our 1880s theme park in stock … but you could also be selling delicious taffy, mouth-watering cinnamon bread or even custom-made furniture built by one of our world-renowned craftsmen!

This position starts now and ends 01/09/2027.

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to assist the Merchandise teams.

  • Wears Personal Protective Equipment as deemed necessary.
  • Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Assists guests by answering questions, providing product information, and other related services.
  • Stocks shelves, counters, and/or tables with merchandise.
  • Operates Point of Sale register following cash handling and credit card procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling of customer credit card information in compliance with Property Procedures and Purchasing Card Industry (PCI) standards.
  • Picks up, removes and records amount of cash in register at beginning and end of shift.
  • Wraps and/or bags merchandise for customers.
  • Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.

Education/Experience:

One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

  • Stand: Uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Walk: Up/down steps, uneven and sloped surfaces, including to and from assigned employee parking and employees assigned work area. Distance should be no greater than .5 miles one way.
  • Lift/Carry/Push/Pull: Up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb: Up and down stairs, uneven and sloped surfaces and be able to climb and descend on an employee shuttle bus.
  • Repetitive Motions: Squat, bend, sweep, mop, vacuum.
  • Use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Speak and hear clearly.
  • See: Near/far, depth perception, and color vision.
