As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of new and current maintenance projects in the park. Tasks include, but are not limited to, general carpentry, masonry, roof and side repair, concrete installation and repair, etc. Silver Dollar City is one of America’s Top Theme Parks. Our guests travel from all around the country to experience our internationally awarded 1880s-style theme park with over 40 thrilling rides and attractions, 18 restaurants, 60 shops, live concerts and shows that all sits atop of Marvel Cave. Our devoted Park Maintenance team works hard to ensure they showcase the natural beauty of the Ozarks within the park.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Construct, modify, and repair structural systems comprised of, but not limited to, foundation systems, framing, sheathing, roofing, exterior siding, gypsum board, masonry, etc.
- Repair or replace defective building components including, but not limited to, ceiling tiles, fences, gutters, planters, exterior and interior doors, windows, roofing materials, decks and handrails, steps, flooring, etc.
- Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, or other wooden fixtures.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Diagnoses common building defects and provides immediate and long-term corrective action.
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair or preventive maintenance to a wide variety of equipment in accordance with regulatory codes at the country, state, and federal levels.
- Clean and lubricate hand tools and shop equipment while maintaining records on equipment status and maintenance.
- Read and understand blueprints and drawings and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment.
- Plan layouts to install components and equipment depending on the local codes and job specifications.
- Determines materials needed for most frequently occurring repair work, prepares requisitions, and monitors inventory.
- Operate construction equipment needed to perform assigned projects, i.e., bobcat, forklift, manlift, dump trucks, etc.
- Maintains daily logs, and records plant operating data as required in logs and operations software.
- Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys, and routine reports as directed.
- Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations related to this position.
- Effective, timely, and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
- Maintain records of work completed and parts used.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
- Must be proficient in commercial and residential carpentry.
- Must be proficient with hand and power tools, materials, and equipment.
- Must have great hand dexterity and an eye for detail.
- Must have an understanding of carpentry tools, techniques, and terminology.
- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
- Ability to withstand heights, climbs stairs, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work at heights from ladders and/or aerial lifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds (assisted).
- Must have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of previous related experience and/or technical training in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A willingness to continue education and training determined by leadership.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Knowledge of the techniques, equipment and materials used in the mechanical maintenance and repair of related equipment and systems.
- Proof of current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates.
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion.

- Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
- Ability to remember locations, understand, and carry instructions.
Work Environment:
This role works primarily outdoors, with occasional indoor tasks in workshops. The role involves exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, and moderate to high noise levels. This position uses tools, requiring physical strength, precision, and adherence to safety protocols. Work includes collaboration with teams and mentors, and independent work, often in protective gear.
