Job Description

From award-winning roller coasters to family rides that soar, whirl and fly, Silver Dollar city offers unique attractions for thrill-seekers of all ages. Ride Operators are the ones responsible for ensuring guests have amazing experiences with them. You’ll meet and greet hundreds of people every day, making sure each of their adventures is as safe as it is exciting. You will check restraints, interact with guests one on one and ensure that all guests meet the rider requirements. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to assist the Attractions teams.

  • Properly trained to follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Test-rides equipment before opening the ride to guests.
  • Interact with large groups of guests.
  • Ensure guests meet rider requirements.
  • Remain safe, alert and attentive to ensure guest safety.
  • Physically and visually check restraints system.
  • Manage ride controls to safely load, unload and dispatch the ride.
  • Visually watch attraction for deviations in safety procedures.
  • Gives directions to guests over microphone regarding safety and operation of ride.
  • Removes and disposes of various waste items including bodily fluids.
  • React calmly and quickly in emergency situations.

  • Stand: Uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt and concrete.
  • Walk: Up/down steps, uneven and sloped surfaces, including to and from assigned employee parking and employees assigned work area. Distance should be no greater than .5 miles one way.
  • Climb: Up and down stairs/ladders, uneven and sloped surfaces and be able to climb and descend on an employee shuttle bus.
  • Repetitive Motion: Bending and twisting.
  • Use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Speak and hear clearly.
  • See: Near/far, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
