The Details:

• Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
• $95,258 pa + 12% super (level 4) + a commuter use vehicle
• 76 hour fortnight
• Location: Narangba

As our Signs Supervisor, you'll play a key role in planning, coordinating and overseeing signage maintenance and renewal activities across the City of Moreton Bay area. You'll lead three designated signage crews (each made up of a Crew Leader and Labourer), ensuring efficient service delivery while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Council requirements.

This role combines operational leadership, technical expertise and contractor management to support the ongoing maintenance of Council's signage assets and contribute to improved safety outcomes for the community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing multiple operational teams, building capability and fostering a strong culture of safety, teamwork and high performance outcomes
• Developing and managing work schedules, continually reviewing productivity and overseeing resources to ensure signage maintenance and renewal activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to Council's agreed quality standards
• Reviewing and managing customer requests relating to signage maintenance, providing clear communication and practical solutions
• Providing technical guidance and expertise to support compliance with signage standards, road safety requirements and maintenance outcomes
• Undertaking process and scheduled works audits to ensure compliance of asset inspections and operational outcomes
• Overseeing procurement and contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered within budget, scope and agreed quality expectations
• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery outcomes
• Supporting strategic planning through budget preparation, resource planning, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, cultural heritage and legislative requirements, while promoting safe work practices through toolbox talks, site inspections and incident reporting

This role offers the opportunity to lead operational teams, drive service improvements and play a key role in maintaining the safety, compliance and reliability of Council's signage network.

Please note: This role requires the participation in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.

About you

Ideally you'll have demonstrated experience in a similar supervisory or operational role, with experience working within a regulated compliance environment.

You'll also bring:

• Strong experience leading operational field teams within civil or transport infrastructure environments
• Demonstrated experience with traffic control devices and signage compliance frameworks
• Sound understanding of road safety principles, risk management and relevant industry standards such as MUTCD, Austroads and TMR requirements
• Experience in asset inspections, audits and defect management
• The ability to interpret plans, standards and technical drawings
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to manage customer requests and competing priorities effectively

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent/similar
• Current Driver's Licence
• Construction Induction Card

Highly desirable:

• Truck Licence
• Traffic Management Implementation accreditation
• Certificate IV in Construction Supervision (Civil) or Diploma in Civil Construction
