The Details:

• Permanent Full Time | 9 Day Fortnight | Multiple Positions Available
• $78,197 pa (ie. $39.57/hour) - incl. industry and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 6)
• Please note, progression in remuneration up to Level 8) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
• 76 hour fortnight
• Location: Narangba

As a Crew Leader working within the Roads and Drains team, you'll work alongside a Labourer to undertake maintenance activities across Council's signage network, including regulatory, warning and information signage assets. You'll take the lead in identifying and allocating materials, assessing defects and implementing safe, effective maintenance solutions.

This is a hands on role that combines signage maintenance activities with crew coordination and basic administrative responsibilities to support service delivery outcomes. The work is primarily focused on maintaining the safety, functionality and compliance of Council's signage assets.

Some of the tasks include:

• installing, repairing and replacing regulatory, warning and information signage
• identifying signage defects and implementing appropriate maintenance solutions
• undertaking general labouring activities associated with signage maintenance works
• coordinating daily work activities and supporting delivery outcomes
• maintaining work orders, records and basic administrative requirements using Council systems
• operating and maintaining plant, equipment and tools in accordance with safety requirements
• supporting safe work practices and ensuring work sites are maintained in a safe condition

Hands on involvement and leadership capabilities will be key to ensuring signage assets remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose across the region.

About you

Ideally your application will demonstrate recent hands on experience in signage, transport infrastructure or civil maintenance environments, along with experience taking the lead on jobs or coordinating day to day activities.

You'll also bring:

• strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• the ability to safely perform manual tasks in a safety focused environment
• confidence using, and the ability to learn, Council systems and relevant technology (we currently use TechOne)
• experience identifying defects and delivering practical maintenance solutions
• the ability to coordinate tasks, resources and daily activities to achieve quality outcomes

Requirements:

• Current Truck Licence (minimum MR - Medium Rigid)
• Construction Induction Card
• Traffic Management Implementation licence and High Risk Work Dogging (DG) licence (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement)

Holding a Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable. Please note: this qualification is required to progress through the Crew Leader Framework.
