Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Signage Installer to join our team, responsible for undertaking building, refurbishment, and maintenance work as part of branding refresh and site improvement projects in the retail fuel industry. This role involves tasks such as canopy cladding installation, decal installation and removal, and internal fit-outs, all while ensuring strict compliance with WSP’s quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery:

• Install and remove decals, signage, and other branding elements on canopy structures and buildings.
• Install ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) panels on canopy structures and shopfront facades.
• Perform minor structural repairs as needed to support cladding installations.
• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks, including repairs to walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Address minor building issues to ensure safe and functional site operations.
• Prepare and maintain surfaces to meet client branding standards.
• Execute a variety of project tasks, including minor "make-good" works, ensuring high standards and timely completion.
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, team members, and clients to meet project goals.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Submit close-out paperwork and necessary documentation in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including risk assessments and use of appropriate PPE.
• Follow WSP’s HSSE standards for work on live operating retail fuel sites.
• Site Measures and Inspections:

Conduct site measurements and inspections, creating project scopes based on findings.

• Interpret IFC drawings and client-provided packs to align with project deliverables.
• Identify and document any defects in scope, reporting to the internal project team and relevant trades on-site.
• Recognize and report hazards, incidents, and near misses in line with safety protocols.
• Apply proactive, solutions-focused problem-solving when challenges arise.

Minimum Criteria:

• Relevant Trade Qualification.
• Construction White Card.

Desirable Criteria:

• Exposure to Civil / Structural Engineering Principles.
• WPCG Accreditation or retail service station experience.
• Experience with online form programs such as FieldView.
