We design, manufacture, install, and service high-impact signage solutions for commercial properties, multi-family housing, healthcare facilities, parking garages, and more. We partner with leading construction companies and architectural design firms to bring signage visions to life—from concept to installation.
We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Sign Fabricator / Welder to join our Houston production team. This role is designed for a technical expert who possesses the confidence to take a project from paper to product. The ideal candidate isn't just a welder; they are a structural fabricator who can interpret complex drawings and execute precision layouts without supervision. This is a high-priority, rapid-hire position to support our expanding production floor.
Job

Summary This role is responsible for the full fabrication lifecycle of custom architectural signage, including monuments, pylon signs, and illuminated structures. The Sign Fabricator / Welder will work directly from technical packages to measure, cut, fit, and weld aluminum and steel components. This position requires a high level of self-reliance and the ability to move a project independently from the initial work order to a finished, high-quality product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Blueprint & Technical Interpretation (Primary Duty): Independently read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine material requirements, dimensions, and assembly sequences.
- Precision Layout & Fitting: Perform all necessary layout math and measurements. Cut, cope, notch, and fit metal components to exact specifications as outlined in the design drawings.
- Advanced Welding Processes: Execute high-quality MIG and TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel, ensuring all structures meet both aesthetic and structural integrity standards.
- Material Fabrication: Operate various shop machinery including saws, grinders, brakes, and shears to shape and form signage components ranging from thin-gauge sheet metal to heavy structural frames.
- Structural Integrity & Quality Control: Ensure all builds are square, level, and built to withstand specified environmental conditions. Perform rigorous self-inspections to ensure a "zero-defect" handoff.
- Production Collaboration: Work closely with the Design and Project Management teams to ensure fabrication aligns with client expectations and installation requirements.
- Shop Safety & Efficiency: Maintain a "safety-first" environment, ensuring proper use of PPE and maintenance of welding equipment and heavy machinery.

QualificationsEducation and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5+ years of custom fabrication experience OR a Professional Welding Diploma with 3+ years in a specialized sign or architectural shop.
- Demonstrated mastery in reading and executing builds from blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
- Proven proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, with a specific emphasis on aluminum fabrication.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with sign-specific assembly, including LED mounting and internal wiring.
- Forklift and overhead crane certification.
- Experience with thin-gauge (16ga) metal forming.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- Aflac supplemental plans (Disability, Accident, Cancer, Hospital coverage)
- The opportunity to work on high-profile architectural projects in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
