Could you be the full-time Signalling Installation Design Engineer in Cairo we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality signalling solutions that ensure safe and efficient railway systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as signalling interlocking, V&V, installation, and testing & commissioning teams), support the preparation of installation documents, Bill of Materials (BOM), and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of designing installation engineering drawings, including cable plans and wiring diagrams, method statements, and general installation drawings, but also contribute to analysing requirements and managing design change requests.
We’ll look to you for:
Prepare and execute Installation Engineering (IE) activities (drawings, documentation, specifications, work method statements, etc.) in support of one or several bids/projects
Ensure deliverables are prepared in accordance with project execution requirements: customer needs, installation subcontractor requirements, local regulations, and more
Support the field team (e.g., Installation Supervisors, Site Managers, Installation Team Leaders) to understand and review deliverables, and prepare design modifications or change requests based on site inputs
Review civil interface drawings (e.g., station building drawings, track layout drawings) and provide signalling equipment requirements for space allocation and applicable cable trunking
Prepare installation material specifications and Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
Support project teams during the preparation of field quality dossiers for handover
Prepare as-built documentation and ensure conformity with as-installed configurations
Perform site surveys during preparation and execution phases as necessary
Liaise with BIM Coordinators and Modelers to coordinate common IE studies and deliverables
Ensure application of D&IS Installation and Field Operations processes for IE activities
Contribute to best practices definition and lessons learned within the product line
Participate in process and methodology improvement workgroups, proposing updates and enhancements to IE workflows, processes, tools, and reference libraries
Report anomalies in reference libraries and local standards, and propose improvements or updates
