Course Title CHM211H5F - Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry

Course DescriptionA rigorous introduction to the theory and practice of analytical chemistry. Development and applications of basic statistical concepts in treatment and interpretation of analytical data; direct and indirect precipitations; volumetric methods; acid-base, complexometric, redox and precipitation titrations; introduction to instrumental methods; potentiometry and absorption spectroscopy. Applications in biomedical, forensic and environmental areas will be considered.

Number of Positions (est) 7 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment and are not guaranteed.

SalaryCUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications B.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA experience working with undergraduate students in Chemistry laboratory and/or tutorial setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT's standards. Good communication skills are required as well.

of Duties Duties will include laboratory demonstrations, leading tutorials, marking laboratory reports, and/or quizzes/assignments. May also include invigilation of term tests and/or final exam.
