The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.
The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed
The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Mechanical) develops new mechanical systems/modules and maintains existing designs. Research mechanical concepts and create system solutions using 3D modeling and simulation software. Complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed.

Detailed Description

Signal Integrity (SI) Expert



- Present SI/PI in projects
- Upgrade the SI/PI design process to improve SI/PI design quality
- Host technical meeting with key customer, provide the support to customers.
- Lead to develop next generation data center switches, server and storage SI design.
- Validate results in lab for correlation
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Process board, Trainer and Decision maker of SI/PI
- Main customer SI/PI interface for data center Switches, server and storage
- Lead SI/PI team to evaluate design trade-offs and optimize design performance / risk /
cost / manufacturability.
- Study of new technology, such as PCB material, Cable, Via technology etc.
- PCB material choosing and stack-up definition and decision
- 3D passive channel modeling, perform SerDes channel extraction using electromagnetic
tools
- Perform signal integrity pre-layout and post-layout analysis
- Perform static timing and signal integrity analysis of parallel (common clock,
source-synchronous) interfaces
- Design and analysis of multi-gigabit serial links, including lab verification and tuning.
- Perform power integrity analysis on power delivery network
- Generate and verify PCB layout rules, manage constraints for PCB layout
- Performing physical measurements to collect data for design validation and simulation
correlations
- Be familiar with SAS, PCIe, DDR4/5, 25G/56G/112G/224G Ethernet specification is a
plus.

Qualifications:
- Technical pioneer, Good communication, Leadership skill
- Experience with at least one PCB post-route SI tool: Cadence SPECCTRA Quest,
Mentor ICX, SI Soft SI-Auditor (preferred), Sigrity Power SI.
- Experience with Synopsys HSPICE and/or Keysight ADS for both time and frequency
domain circuit simulation.
- Experience with at least one 3-D field solver (CST Microwave Studio, ANSYS HFSS).
- Strong lab skills and measurement experience are required (VNA, TDR, Real Time
Scope, BERT).
- Proficiency in Electromagnetic, Transmission-line & S-parameters theory and modeling.
- Good understanding on power distribution and SerDes (NRZ,PAM4) design.
- BSEE or related field with 8 years of applicable work experience or MSEE or related field
with 5 years of experience.

Desired Skills:
- Experience of script languages like VB, Perl or Python
- Use of mathematic tools like Matlab
- Strong written and oral communication in English with customer service skills
