SUPERVISES:
There are no direct reports with this position.
Under general supervision, safely and efficiently operates a van or minibus. Provides for the transportation of employees to/from work in accordance with an established schedule and route. Employees in the job classification assist employees onto and off of assigned vehicle to assure safety of passengers while riding if required. Accurate records of trips are maintained for each assigned route. This job class requires the ability to safely operate assigned vehicles, navigate to various locations and maintain related records.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Operates a multi-passenger vehicle to transport passengers, including persons with disabilities, from established “pick-up/drop-off” locations, to their assigned work site and then returned to the “pick-up/drop-off” locations. This position requires working non-traditional hours and/or split shifts.2. *Maintains accurate and legible records and logs of trip information and behavior of passengers as required.3. *Performs vehicle inspections and reports any mechanical problems or defects of the assigned vehicle prior to departure.4. Clean and/or service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.5. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 21 years of age or older• Must have a satisfactory driving record• Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information and respond to questions from customers, employees, and others• Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately• Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities• Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills• Ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle following a schedule• Ability to read a map book, understand directions and operate GPS devises when needed
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Class A or B w/Pass End
Class B, Passenger End
Valid Driver's License
Vehicle/DevDisabledPerson
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: • Operating passenger vehicles• Bending, stooping, reaching to maneuver passengers’ wheelchairs into safety restraints may be required• Truck drivers in this classification load and unload trucks of materials and/or equipment• Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance• Climbing in and out of vehicle.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work is performed outdoors and, in a vehicle, while driving. Frequently operate a passenger bus in a variety of traffic and weather conditions. This position requires working non-traditional hours and/or split shifts.
