Job Description

The Shuttle Operations Shift Supervisor oversees safe, reliable, and professional shuttle operations during an assigned shift. This role directly supervises approximately 12-15 shuttle operators and serves as the primary operational leader responsible for staffing, route coverage, fleet readiness, attendance, break coordination, customer service, safety compliance, and shift communication. The ideal candidate is a hands-on transportation leader with strong situational awareness, sound decision-making skills, professional communication, and a commitment to accountability, safety, and service excellence.

Shift: First or Third Shift Available

Compensation: $30 per hour (US Dollars)

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

  • Supervise 12-15 shuttle operators during assigned shifts.
  • Verify employee attendance, timekeeping, and readiness for duty.
  • Monitor fleet status, including assigned, spare, parked, and out-of-service vehicles.
  • Coordinate daily driver and vehicle assignments to maintain route coverage.
  • Manage meal and restroom break coverage to minimize service disruptions.
  • Ensure drivers notify supervision before leaving routes for breaks or operational needs.
  • Coordinate relief drivers and vehicle substitutions as needed.
  • Verify shift-change vehicle inspections and documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, damage, and safety issues.
  • Remove unsafe vehicles from service and coordinate replacements.
  • Monitor attendance, tardiness, call-outs, no-call/no-shows, and early departures.
  • Arrange staffing coverage while controlling unnecessary overtime and temporary labor usage.
  • Maintain shift records and provide thorough shift handoffs.
  • Submit operational status reports to the Shuttle Operations Manager.
  • Monitor route performance and respond to service disruptions and customer concerns.
  • Enforce appearance, conduct, customer service, and workplace standards.
  • Address routine performance issues and escalate formal corrective actions.
  • Promote a workplace free from favoritism, inappropriate conduct, and disruptive conflicts.
  • Foster teamwork, integrity, accountability, respect, and urgency.
  • Respond to accidents, incidents, breakdowns, emergencies, and passenger concerns.
  • Ensure all attendance, maintenance, inspection, incident, and operational records are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate vehicle transportation to maintenance vendors as directed.
  • Maintain accountability for fuel, vehicles, keys, and equipment.
  • Reinforce compliance with DOT, state, client, ABM, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other transportation-related supervisory duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass MVR review, background screening, and drug testing.
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience overseeing approximately 12-15 employees.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, management, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced transportation environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Teams, Excel, timekeeping, or similar business systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to operate shuttle vehicles when qualified and operationally necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Five or more years of shuttle, transit, passenger transportation, fleet, or related experience.
  • Transportation operations, dispatch, or fleet supervision experience.
  • Associate degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising commercial drivers.
  • Experience with fleet readiness, preventive maintenance, inspections, and maintenance tracking.
  • Experience managing schedules, attendance, overtime, and staffing coverage.
  • Knowledge of DOT and state driving regulations.
  • Experience in contracted transportation, airports, corporate shuttles, industrial campuses, or similar high-volume environments.
  • Experience with dispatch, GPS, transportation management, workforce management, or timekeeping systems.
  • CPR, First Aid, defensive driving, or related safety certifications.
