We are seeking a Shunt Driver for our East Chicago, IN location who is safety conscious. As a key part of the team to keep things moving, you must be able to multi-task and communicate well. You will be responsible for moving trailers to load and unload within our Safety-Kleen facilities.

Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
Operate shunt truck to move trailers within the facility for loading, unloading, and or cleaning
Scale full and empty trailers to determine gallons loaded or unloaded
Review shipping and receiving paperwork for product to be loaded
Performs trailer inspections to comply with requirements of the Federal Railroad D.O.T. prior to loading, unloading and/or offering for transport
Works closely with transportation, the Lab, and bulk carriers to ensure products are shipped on time and in specification. Assist in assignment of trailers for cleaning, and loading
HS Diploma or equivalent
1+ years’ previous Shunt Driving/Yard Truck experience
Plant/industrial experience preferred
Must be able to multi-task
Strong communication skills to work well drivers, members of supervision, and operators from various departments
Work well under pressure
