What's the role?

We are seeking an experienced SHS Manager to join the Qube team at our Port Hedland site, to provide Health & Safety leadership on safety culture, compliance and standards across all site operations

Specific Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Assist with the coordination of all functional safety issues including risk assessments, systems development and the maintenance of relevant records and reports
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits, implement improvement plans where any gaps are identified
  • Lead/participate in incident investigation processes
  • Ensure site compliance with all OHS and mining legislation
  • Follow the requirements of the SHEMS documentation including Rules, Procedures and Instructions
  • Drive culture change from the ground up on operating standards, risk awareness and safety culture
  • Initiate and verify solutions and control further processing until deficiencies have been corrected

To be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates have:

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or relevant university graduate diploma in safety
  • Holds a current National Police Clearance
  • Strong understanding of WA mining regulations
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • ICAM Investigation qualification and experience
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility essential
  • Hands-on approach with coaching/mentoring skills
  • Have an ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
