📣 Show Tech Scenic 4 | Touring & Live Events Focus

📍 Location: Columbia, MD
🕓 Schedule: Full Time | Touring & Event Based

💰 Pay: $20 - $30/hr based on experience and qualifications

This role is fully focused on touring and live events. As a Show Tech Scenic 4, you will travel to venues to build, install, maintain, and strike scenic elements for live productions. From staging and set pieces to custom scenic builds, you will play a key role in bringing event environments to life.

🌟 What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Focus primarily on touring and live event scenic setup and strike
✅ Review show schedules, contracts, drawings, and production specs to plan installations
✅ Build, assemble, and install scenic elements including flats, platforms, stages, and custom pieces
✅ Assist with warehouse prep, scenic construction, maintenance, and repairs
✅ Travel to venues to assess staging layouts, access points, and installation requirements
✅ Receive, inspect, and verify scenic elements against manifests
✅ Act as Lead Show Technician or support role to execute scenic builds on site
✅ Troubleshoot and reinforce scenic structures as needed during events
✅ Direct and coordinate technicians and freelance labor when assigned
✅ Document show activities, hours, equipment issues, and client notes
✅ Secure, strike, pack, and load scenic elements for transport
✅ Respond to client needs and production adjustments during and after events

🔎 What We’re Looking For

🔹 High School Diploma or equivalent
🔹 1 to 3 years experience in scenic setup, construction, or stage carpentry for live events or touring
🔹 Knowledge of staging systems, scenic construction methods, and event floorplans
🔹 Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and build plans
🔹 Familiarity with hand and power tools used in scenic construction
🔹 Basic rigging knowledge preferred
🔹 Comfortable traveling regularly and working in fast paced, high energy environments
🔹 Strong problem solving skills and commitment to safety standards
