About the role


We’re looking for safety-focused individuals with experience or transferable skills in blasting or mining operations to join our team as Open-Cut Shotfirers at Ravenswood Gold

This is a permanent opportunity with a global leader, where you’ll be supported with training and development to grow your skills, whether you’re building on existing shotfiring experience or looking to take the next step into technical, engineering, or leadership pathways.

Point of hire is Townsville, with meals, accommodation, and transport to site provided while on shift.

What you will be doing

  • Putting safety first in everything you do and helping create a safe working environment;
  • Supporting blasting activities, including preparation, loading, tying, and firing of blasts;
  • Working with blast plans and contributing to accurate execution of drill and blast designs;
  • Managing explosives storage and maintaining compliance standards;
  • Collaborating closely with your team to deliver high-quality outcomes for customers;
  • Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of team members;
  • Working with integrity, respect, and accountability at all times.

What you will bring

  • A strong commitment to safety and following procedures;
  • The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively;
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow plans and instructions;
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen;
  • QLD Shotfirer licence or exposure to blasting operations;
  • QLD Explosives security clearance;
  • HR Licence is advantageous.
