Purpose of Role: The Shotblast Operator is responsible for checking the hardness of castings and ensure they meet the Manufacturing and Inspection Instructions (MII) requirements. The operator must directly follow MII and/or work instructions to correctly load parts and is responsible for quarantining parts that require weld repair. The operator is responsible for safely loading and removing manually or using proper equipment/aid. Operator will also be required to visually inspect each casting for obvious defects and separate by pattern and part. The operator may be asked to perform other jobs within or outside the department.

Focus Area: Attain LOTO (Lock out tag out) certification

Focus Area: Collect PVR data

Focus Area: Use of hand tools and hoist to move parts weighting 1500 lbs

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must be able to read, write perform math and have good communication skills
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stand for 90% of the shift
