About the Project

SEHAT (Strengthening Essential Health Access and Treatment) is a pilot initiative to strengthen access to comprehensive primary healthcare services for vulnerable populations residing in urban slums of Raipur. The project aims to demonstrate a government-led, system-integrated model for doorstep diagnostics, teleconsultation, medicine delivery, referral linkage, and follow-up care by leveraging existing UPHCs, Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, frontline health workers, and local implementation partners. The pilot will be implemented in Raja Talab and Hirapur urban slum clusters in close coordination with the State Health Department, NHM, NUHM, District Health Administration, and Raipur Municipal Corporation.

About the Position

The City Programme Coordinator, under the overall supervision of the Project Lead, will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership for planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in the assigned intervention area. The coordinator will work closely with government stakeholders, UPHC teams, Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, frontline health workers, and implementation partners to ensure timely implementation of project activities and achievement of project milestones.

The position will support implementation of the integrated doorstep healthcare delivery model, facilitate coordination among stakeholders, monitor programme performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and contribute to documentation and evidence generation to support future scale-up under the National Health Mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational coordination for implementation of project activities in the assigned intervention geography.
  • Develop detailed operational plans, ward-wise micro-plans, implementation schedules, and monitoring plans in coordination with government stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with NHM, NUHM, District Health Administration, Raipur Municipal Corporation, UPHCs, Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Medical Officers, ANMs, ASHAs, MAS members, and implementation partners for effective programme implementation.
  • Support beneficiary identification, household mapping, rapid assessments, and facility readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate implementation of doorstep diagnostics, teleconsultation services, medicine delivery, referral, and follow-up mechanisms.
  • Support capacity-building activities including training, handholding, and supportive supervision of frontline health workers and partner staff.
  • Monitor achievement of project milestones and key performance indicators, identify implementation bottlenecks, and undertake corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring and supportive supervision visits to ensure quality implementation and adherence to operational protocols.
  • Coordinate review meetings with district and city health officials and prepare action plans for programme improvement.
  • Ensure timely collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of programme data.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports, technical updates, presentations, and documentation of implementation learnings.
  • Coordinate with technical partners and service providers for smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Support documentation of best practices, operational learnings, and evidence generation to inform programme scale-up.
  • Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Management, Hospital Administration, Social Work, Community Medicine, or a related field.
  • 3- 5 years of experience in public health programme implementation, preferably with government health systems.
  • Experience in urban health, NHM/NUHM, primary healthcare, or community-based programmes.
  • Experience in stakeholder coordination, programme implementation, monitoring, and supportive supervision.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects will be an added advantage.

  • Strong programme management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to undertake regular field travel within Raipur.
