Are you passionate about the fast-paced world of power trading? Are you a highly motivated, analytical thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset? We are seeking a Short-Term Asset Trader to join our 24/7 team based in Madrid.

If you want to be part of this great project, join us as Short-Term Asset Trader! You will join to a young, dynamic and international environment, where your role will consist of the optimization of our flexible portfolio on the Spanish Market.

Your accountabilities

  • Optimization the Alpiq Energía España’s portfolio in the day-ahead, intraday and balancing markets (OMIE & REE). Managing imbalance risk and trading needs effectively.
  • Monitor the assets connected to our control centre.
  • Analysing fundamentals and other market data with impact on the bidding strategy.
  • Preparation of market and competitor analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of analysis and bidding tools.

Your profile

  • Degree in Energy or industrial engineering or similar.
  • Experience of at least 1 year in an intraday trading desk is value.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish electricity market (OMIE and REE). Knowledge of other gas/power markets will be valued.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in VBA/Excell and ideally Python.
  • Knowledge of SQL and statistical tools and knowledge of the gas market will be an asset.
  • Fluency in English (C1) is mandatory.
