Acumen Academy in Colombia is seeking a Short Term Analyst to strengthen our Spanish-language online learning ecosystem by supporting course operations, content creation, and learner engagement. The role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data, technology, education, and social impact—helping us deliver high-quality, accessible learning experiences for social innovators across Latin America. The Short Term Analyst will support backend operations for WhatsApp-based courses, analyze data to improve impact, and nurture a growing community of learners. This is an 8 month contract, ideally starting October 2026.

About Acumen Latin America
Acumen Latin America (ALA) started operations in 2013 and has a team based in Bogotá focusing on Colombia and Perú. To date, ALA has made 19 investments totaling $11.2 million in agribusiness companies that seek to impact the livelihood of smallholder farmers principally in Colombia. Other sectors of interest are education and energy.
In 2018, ALA launched the Acumen Fellows program in Colombia. Since then, we have also adapted our online content to the context, language and channels best suited for the Latin American audience, through WhatsApp Courses. About the Role
This role is key to strengthening Acumen Academy’s Spanish-language online learning ecosystem by supporting operations, and learner engagement. It contributes to delivering high-impact, accessible learning experiences for anyone, anywhere—especially social innovators across Latin America. The position runs and optimizes backend operations for Spanish-language WhatsApp-based courses, ensuring seamless delivery, iteration, and continuous improvement. It supports mobile-first learning experiences, The role holds full responsibility for customer service and learner communications, ensuring every interaction reflects empathy and excellence. It strongly focuses on analyzing data and feedback to assess and enhance the impact of learning content, while building systems that strengthen user experience and outcomes. This position heavily focuses on backend operational data management, requiring the continuous cleanup, maintenance, and cross-referencing of databases containing up to 1,000 users per course iteration. Additionally, the position manages a community of over 10,000 learners.
Specific responsibilities include:
Data Management & Analysis
- Track enrollment, engagement, and completion metrics; analyze data to identify insights and areas for improvement. Prepare clear and visual reports or presentations to share key insights and trends.
- Database Management & Cleanup- Regularly clean, format, and organize student databases of over 1,000 users per course iteration, ensuring high data quality and accuracy before and after delivery.
- Data Integration & Comparison - Merge and compare user data originating from different sources (e.g., registration forms, Salesforce and survey platforms.
- Data Privacy & Compliance - Safely handle sensitive personal data, ensuring strict adherence to data protection standards and internal privacy protocols.
- Support the design and implementation of surveys and feedback mechanisms to measure course impact and learner satisfaction.
- Keep learner databases updated, ensuring data quality, accurate reporting, and effective learner follow-up.
Learner Experience & Customer Support
- Handle end-to-end user experience for WhatsApp-based courses, ensuring accessibility, clarity, and responsiveness.
- Respond promptly and empathetically to learner inquiries, resolving technical and content-related issues.
- Monitor trends in user questions and feedback, identifying recurring challenges and sharing insights with relevant teams.
- Use data and learner feedback to continuously refine course design, content, and support systems.
WhatsApp Course Operations & Content Development
- Support the redesign and adaptation of Acumen Academy content for Spanish-speaking audiences. This implies developing bite-sized, mobile-friendly learning materials (text, image, audio, video, PDFs) optimized for WhatsApp delivery.
- Support the design, test, and iterate learner journeys from start to finish—drafting and improving WhatsApp conversation flows, tracking engagement, and measuring learning outcomes.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational or user-experience challenges, proposing process improvements to simplify, streamline, and automate delivery.
- Maintain clear documentation and guides for all operational processes, systems, and tools related to course management.
- Conduct quality assurance for all course materials, ensuring consistency and accuracy before launch.
- Set up new courses, including scheduling communications, testing functionality, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Connect local learning outcomes to Acumen Academy’s broader Latin America strategy, ensuring alignment between content, design, and impact goals.
Community Engagement & Value-Add
- Manage the WhatsApp learning community, fostering ongoing communication, peer support, and learner connection.
- Develop and share engaging community content, including a monthly newsletter, to sustain participation and retention.
- Organize online events (i.e webinars) and activities that add value to Acumen Academy’s community of over 10,000 learners.
- Support the visibility and positioning of Acumen Academy’s learning ecosystem across Colombia and Latin America.
Role Type: Temporary / Short-Term Analyst (Maternity Leave Coverage).
- Duration: 8 months, ideally starting October 2026.

- Compensation: $3,000,000 COP per month.
Skills and Qualifications
- 0–2 years of professional experience. Bonus if such experience is in customer service, operations, data analysis, communications, or related fields (This role is feasible for an undergrad student that will end classes in December 2026).
- Fast learner with strong curiosity about data, technology, education, and social impact.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to cleanup databases, organize, interpret, and present data clearly.
- Must be comfortable cross-referencing and auditing discrepancies across disparate data sources.
- An advanced mastery of Google Sheets and/or MS Excel (e.g., using advanced formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data conditioning to clean dirty data efficiently).
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Resourceful, comfortable solving problems and improving systems independently.
- Digitally fluent, eager to learn and use tools.
- Empathetic and customer-focused communicator, able to engage thoughtfully with learners and partners.
- Collaborative team player who adapts well to feedback and fast-changing contexts.
- Genuine interest in technology, learning, and social innovation in Latin America.
- Fluent in Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills (Spanish is the priority language). English at medium level (this role interacts in the day to day with a global team).
- Self-reflective, aligned with Acumen’s values, and committed to social impact.
- Bonus Skills (not needed but a plus): Familiarity with Canva. Familiarity using CRMs like HubSpot and Salesforce. Familiarity with data processing systems and Gsuite.
- Permanent work authorization in Colombia.
