Role title
Short Haul Maintenance Manager
Your role
The Short Haul (SH) Maintenance Manager you will oversee and manage the technical operations of the A320F short haul fleet.
The SH Maintenance Manager will have responsibility for the technical operations of the SH Fleet, ensuring adequate manpower, tooling, facilities and training are provided to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Lead Supervisors on the SH Fleet to co-ordinate, manage and control all line maintenance and hangar activities for the SH Fleet ensuring sufficient manpower and resources are available in collaboration with the Production Planners to manage AOG’s in a timely manner, technical delay minimisation, scheduled work completion and DDR closure rate.
- Management of non-conformances and assist auditees in timely, effective, and appropriate manner with Root Cause, Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Actively contribute to and support the wider Management Team on improving/change management of Line maintenance on a continuous basis.
- Ensuring compliance with EASA Requirements in relation to line maintenance activities and standards of the facilities.
- Tracking of performance and KPI’s of Line maintenance activities on the SH Fleet including but not restricted to Productivity, TDR, Tech OTP, DDR rate and AOG recovery time.
- To promote safe working practices in line with Health and safety policies and just culture within the Line Maintenance department.
- Team player and collaborator with CAMO, Operations, Compliance, Materials, Tooling and Ground Operations to build trust and overcome issues as they arise.
- Provide constructive feedback on an employee’s performance, helping to develop an employee’s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems.
- Ensure all aircraft issues are being prioritised within the team and drive a sense of urgency on critical items.
- Demonstrate clear leadership role to lead and motivate the teams to perform as a high performing unit. Ability to empower their team to develop new skills and be more productive.
- Performance management, development of Teams with Approvals and training completion, to foster a high-performance culture ensuring that they manage and motivate their respective teams to achieve high levels of performance.
- Co-ordination with HR, in the management of employee attendance, performance, conduct and discipline.
- Foster and develop a reporting and SMS culture within their Team including change management and risk assessment.
- Deputise for the LH Maintenance Manager in their absence.
Your qualifications and key criteria
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- A current EASA part 66 licence or equivalent 3rd level qualification.
- Experience should be a minimum of 5 years within a line maintenance environment with experience of managing large teams of staff who must deliver a safe and reliable service to the operation.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the Maintenance operation including manpower, facilities and training requirements.

- Must be able to motivate, delegate, negotiate and collaborate with Teams effectively.
- Possess a high level of integrity
- Excellent organisation skills
- Proven decision-making skills and a keen desire to take ownership of activities.
- Effective Listener and Communicator in engagement with team members and other business stakeholders to enact change
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a Unionised environment.
- Promote the delivery of a safe and reliable maintenance operation in compliance with the requirements of EASA Part CAMO, EASA Part 145 and the Aer Lingus CAME and MOE conducive to best and efficient maintenance practices.
- Experience working in an ETOPS environment.
- Proven experience of effectively managing a team with the ability to motivate to meet deliverables in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- B1/B2 approval on the A320F and A330.
- Proven Project Management experience.
- Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Systems such as AMOS, Airbus World, Airman, Flight scheduling software such as AIMS etc.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point & Project
- Working knowledge of EASA part 145 and its application in the workplace
People Management experience:
- Holding people accountable to their tasks, hours, duties & performance to meet the standards
- Develop employee skills & performance through training & coaching to meet the business needs
- Provide constructive feedback on an employee’s performance, helping to develop an employee’s skills where needed, and addressing performance problems
- Reviewing employee performance evaluations and providing feedback on areas for improvement with supporting documentation
