Short-Form Video Editor (Social Media: TikTok and Instagram) Location: Remote – South Africa Salary: R15,000 – R25,000 per month Working Hours: Monday – Thursday: 10:00am – 6:00pm UK time Friday: 10:00am – 4:00pm UK time About the Client Our client is a growing UK-based business operating across the events, festivals, hospitality, leisure and live entertainment space. They create exciting, high-energy experiences and are looking for a creative Short-Form Video Editor who knows how to turn great footage into content that makes people stop scrolling. If you love TikTok, Instagram Reels, fast-paced editing, trending audio and visually exciting event content , this could be a great opportunity for you. About the Role We are looking for a Short-Form Video Editor with at least 2 years of professional video editing experience to create engaging, social-first content for platforms including TikTok and Instagram . You will work with footage from events, festivals, live entertainment and experiences , turning it into energetic, creative and highly engaging short-form content. We are looking for someone who understands that social media editing is about more than simply cutting footage. You should have a strong understanding of pacing, hooks, trending formats, music, transitions, storytelling and what makes people stop scrolling . Experience editing flashy, high-energy festival, event or live entertainment content would be a major advantage. Key Responsibilities Edit engaging TikTok and Instagram Reels from raw event, festival and lifestyle footage. Create fast-paced, energetic and visually engaging short-form social content . Edit content that captures the atmosphere, energy and excitement of festivals, events and live entertainment . Keep up to date with TikTok and Instagram trends, editing styles, formats, music and trending audio . Create strong hooks and engaging edits designed to capture attention quickly. Use music, sound effects, transitions, captions, text and motion graphics to enhance content. Create both polished branded content and more natural UGC-style social videos . Repurpose longer-form or existing footage into multiple pieces of short-form content. Bring creative ideas to the editing process rather than simply following a brief. Adapt content specifically for different social platforms and audiences. Work quickly and efficiently across multiple projects and deadlines. Collaborate with the wider creative and marketing team. Requirements Requirements 2+ years of professional short-form video editing experience specifically for social media. Strong experience creating content for TikTok and Instagram Reels . Demonstrable experience editing fast-paced, engaging social media content . Experience editing event, festival, live entertainment, nightlife or lifestyle content is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram trends, formats, music and trending audio . Strong knowledge of CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects . Demonstrable experience with motion graphics and animation . Agency experience is highly desirable, particularly working on multiple social media videos per day. Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, transitions, sound design and visual composition . Ability to create both polished branded content and authentic UGC-style social content . A strong creative eye and excellent attention to detail. A strong portfolio demonstrating short-form social media video editing . Event & Festival Experience Experience within the events, festivals, music, nightlife, hospitality, entertainment or lifestyle industries would be highly advantageous. We would particularly love to see candidates who have edited high-energy event or festival content , including crowd footage, performances, behind-the-scenes content, event highlights, promotional reels or fast-paced social campaigns. You should be able to take raw footage from an event or festival and turn it into something exciting, creative and social-first . You should understand: What makes a strong TikTok or Reel. How to create an attention-grabbing hook. How to edit to music and trending audio. How to create fast-paced, energetic edits. How to make event and festival footage feel exciting and immersive. How to use transitions, captions, effects and motion graphics without overdoing them. How to adapt one piece of footage into multiple social-first videos.
