  • Your focus area is our Småland; making sure the Children are in good hands with you. While their companions go shopping, you supervise our little customers playing and painting.
  • When needed, you will also support the other areas of customer service: in the entrance area, in the exchange, and at the checkout.
  • Operate and Support Store activities.
  • Provide a day out for the whole family.
  • Maintain the communications of the shopping tools for any services and campaigns to be up to date.
  • Secure an easy buying process from home to home.
  • Act as a highly efficient, and staffed, sales mechanism.
  • Show home furnishing solutions full of inspiring home furnishing ideas.
  • You’re the first one to meet our customers making sure meeting their wishes and needs.
  • Create a welcoming and efficient shopping environment by maintaining the availability, cleanliness, and good condition of shopping tools (such as trolleys, shopping bags, pencils, measuring tapes, and other customer equipment), ensuring they are accessible in designated locations, reporting maintenance needs, and contributing to smooth customer flow throughout the store.
  • Support customers throughout their shopping journey by proactively engaging with customers to understand their needs, providing clear guidance on the store layout, products, services, shopping tools, and self-service solutions, while offering personal assistance and directing customers to the appropriate co-workers whenever additional support is required.
  • Promote IKEA products and services by informing customers about available solutions, including delivery, assembly, Click & Collect, IKEA Family, financing options, and other relevant services, enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions and enjoy a seamless shopping experience.
  • Contribute to operational excellence and commercial success by supporting commercial activities and in-store events, ensuring operational readiness, collaborating with relevant functions, identifying opportunities to improve customer touchpoints and operational processes, escalating issues when needed, and acting as an IKEA ambassador through friendly, knowledgeable, and proactive customer interactions that create positive first and lasting impressions

Functional / Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of Småland operational routines, including child registration, safety procedures, and capacity control.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and security procedures to ensure a safe environment for children, families, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to follow Småland guidelines for child supervision, check-in and check-out procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Understanding of entrance operations, including welcoming customers, guiding store flow, and supporting a smooth start to the shopping experience.
  • Knowledge of store layout and key store functions to effectively guide customers and answer questions.
  • Ability to use basic store systems and registration tools for Småland check-in and customer support tasks.
  • Understanding of IKEA customer service standards and tone of voice when interacting with customers and children.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the Småland play area and entrance zone.
  • Knowledge of crowd management and queue handling to ensure an efficient and comfortable customer flow at the entrance.
  • Ability to identify and respond quickly to customer needs, safety concerns, or operational issues.
  • Understanding of IKEA services and offers to provide basic information and guide customers to the correct department.
  • Ability to work according to IKEA operational routines and standard procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in daily operations.


Qualification

  • Experience working in a customer service or retail environment is preferred.
  • Experience interacting with children and families, childcare environments, or play areas is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide friendly, helpful, and customer-focused service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.
  • Experience in handling customer enquiries, guiding visitors, or managing reception/entrance areas is an asset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support colleagues when needed.
  • Basic computer and system literacy to support registrations or operational tasks.
  • Strong attention to safety and responsibility, particularly when working with children in Småland.
  • Ability to follow operational routines and procedures while maintaining efficiency and service quality.
  • Flexibility to work in different store areas and shifts, supporting the overall customer experience.
