JOB PURPOSE:

As a key member of the Construction Team, the Shop Support/Parts Runner will ensure efficient functioning of the Energy 1 Bozeman MT shop and support field employees/projects by picking up parts and delivering them to various site locations. This position will report to the Shop Supervisor. This is also an excellent position for someone with a positive attitude and who has a desire to learn about the construction industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Shop Support/Parts Runner will possess strong abilities to collaborate with a variety of departments and personalities. They should be a self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently, but at the same time work collaboratively with others, to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to changing demands. The Shop Support/Parts Runner will be expected to:

• Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness of the shop.
• Receive, inventory, and distribute shipments.
• Safely load, transporting, and delivering tools and material from shop/vendors to jobsites in Bozeman and Big Sky.
• Receiving and labeling material deliveries.
• Assisting with prefab and small mechanical projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Organization skills and attention to detail
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Preferred OSHA Forklift certification and/or trainer certification
• Preferred Trailer experience
• Preferred: Prior shop experience
• Preferred: Knowledge of heating, electrical, and plumbing tools/materials

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The physical environment requires the employee to typically work inside shop space and frequently work outside in all conditions. This position may require travel to multiple E1 sites.
• This position is located in Bozeman MT but will require travel to other E1 offices or worksites.
• This is a full-time position working Monday through Thursday from 8am – 5pm and 4 hours on Friday.
