About the role
As Shop Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, leading a dedicated team of volunteers, delivering an exceptional customer experience and ensuring the shop operates safely, efficiently and profitably.
You'll create a welcoming environment for customers and volunteers while helping maximise store performance to support Anglicare's mission.
In this role you'll
Lead the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring a welcoming, safe and well-presented environment.
Recruit, support, train and recognise volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Deliver outstanding customer service and create an enjoyable shopping experience for every customer.
Drive shop performance through effective merchandising, stock presentation, pricing and inventory management.
Manage cash handling, daily banking and financial administration in accordance with organisational procedures.
Build strong relationships with the local community, parishes and community organisations to promote the store and Anglicare's services.
Identify opportunities to connect customers with Anglicare services where additional support may be needed.
Maintain a safe workplace by ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement through accurate reporting, administration and implementation of operational procedures.
About you
You're an experienced retail leader who enjoys motivating people, delivering exceptional customer service and making a positive difference in your community.
Experience in retail, customer service or store management.
Previous experience leading or supporting staff and/or volunteers.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
A passion for visual merchandising and creating engaging retail displays.
Experience with cash handling, stock control and store operations.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A collaborative approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
A commitment to Anglicare's Christian values and purpose.
Essential requirements
Demonstrated retail experience.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends where required.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
