Call Your Mother is the Jew-ish deli where Boca meets Brooklyn, grandma-level hospitality meets seriously good bagel sandwiches, and hard work meets face-melting vibes.

Husband-and-wife team Andrew and Chef Dani built Call Your Mother around a simple idea: make scrumptious, nostalgic food and unforgettable experiences without being bougie or taking ourselves too seriously. From our first little farmer’s market stand in 2018, to shops across the DMV, Colorado, Chicago, and Philadelphia in 2026, we’re spreading carb love all over the map and our ovens are just getting warmed up! YOU'LL CRUSH THIS ROLE IF...

• You have 1-2 years of leadership experience as a Shift Leader, Key Holder, or similar restaurant leadership role.
• You love staying active, keeping cool under pressure, and you’re excited to take ownership over a busy shift.
• You grasp the importance of hospitality As the folks behind the little-known, very authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant, Olive Garden, like to say: “when you’re here, you’re family.”
• You’re outgoing. You haven’t met a stranger, every new person is just a friend you haven't met yet.
• You’re a natural leader and want to help create a fun, positive environment for guests and team members.
• You have integrity and take pride in doing the right thing for others, even when nobody's watching.
• You see this as a team sport without big egos and jump in when a teammate is in need
• You think committing a regular guest’s order to memory, creating a secret handshake or something as simple as remembering a guest’s name is pretty pretty pretty cool.

• You have (or are willing to obtain) a ServSafe Manager Food Safety Certification.

WHAT YOU’LL REALLY BE DOING

As a Shop Leader, you'll partner with the management team to keep the shop running smoothly from open to close. You'll lead shifts, coach teammates, solve problems on the fly, and help create an incredible experience for every guest who walks through our doors.You'll spend some shifts leading the shop and other shifts working alongside the team as a Front of House Team Member. Even more specifically, you will:

• Lead daily shop operations from opening through closing while maintaining CYM's high standards.
• Provide clear leadership during assigned shifts to keep service running efficiently and the team performing at its best.
• Create memorable guest experiences by modeling exceptional hospitality and resolving guest concerns with care.
• Coach, motivate, and develop team members through VIBE Ups, in-the-moment feedback, and hands-on training.
• Hold yourself and your teammates accountable to recipes, checklists, food safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Proactively solve problems, adapt quickly, and make thoughtful decisions that keep the shop running smoothly.
• Maintain cash handling procedures, process transactions accurately, and complete required financial reporting.
• Partner with your General Manager and fellow leaders to build a positive, inclusive, and high-performing shop culture.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, including equipment, storage, repairs, linens, waste management, and deep cleaning.
• Place vendor orders when needed to ensure inventory and prep levels support daily operations.
• Complete required training, reinforce company policies, and appropriately escalate employee or guest concerns when needed.
• Jump into Front of House or Kitchen Supervisor responsibilities during assigned shifts to lead by example and support the team wherever needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands for this position include seeing, hearing, speaking, reading, and communicating effectively; standing, walking, reaching, bending, and performing repetitive physical movements; lifting up to 50 pounds; and safely operating equipment and tools using manual dexterity. This role also requires working in a fast-paced environment around hot equipment, sharp tools, and varying temperatures, and occasionally working in confined spaces. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation.
