Position Title: Shop Hand
Reporting to: Service Foreman/Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Shop Hand supports technicians and keeps the shop clean and organized as directed by the Service Foreman.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shop Maintenance: Sweeping floors, cleaning workstations, and ensuring the workspace is free of hazards.
- Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and safely moving heavy equipment, supplies, or parts.
- Inventory Management: Organizing tools, tracking supplies, and restocking items.
- Equipment Support: Assisting technicians by cleaning parts, fetching specific hand or power tools, and preparing work areas.
- Basic Repairs: Performing routine maintenance on facility equipment or assisting with minor mechanical troubleshooting under supervision
- Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required. A technical school certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication is a plus
- Some experience in an Automotive or Diesel shop environment preferred
- Valid license and clean driving record
- A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
- Familiarity with basic hand/power tools
- Basic mechanical skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Commitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environment
WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.  It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.  This list is not meant to cover every possible scenario but simply provides an outline.  Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
