Job Description

ERS ELITE is seeking an experienced Automotive Shop Foreman to provide technical leadership and daily operational support within our service department. This position coordinates shop workflow, assists technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs, maintains high-quality standards, and helps the department achieve its productivity and customer satisfaction goals.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished automotive technician and proven leader who can effectively coach technicians, collaborate with service advisors and management, and ensure vehicles are repaired correctly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the daily workflow of automotive technicians.
  • Assign repair orders based on technician experience, certifications, workload, and shop priorities.
  • Assist technicians with advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex mechanical or electrical repairs.
  • Review repair orders and verify that all work is completed accurately and thoroughly documented.
  • Perform quality-control inspections and road tests when necessary.
  • Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, workmanship, and repair turnaround times.
  • Ensure repairs meet Kia, dealership, and industry standards.
  • Support technicians with Kia service information, technical service bulletins, recalls, and warranty procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop technicians at various skill levels.
  • Identify training needs and encourage technicians to complete required certifications and manufacturer training.
  • Work closely with service advisors, the Service Manager, and the parts department to resolve repair delays and customer concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional shop environment.
  • Ensure technicians follow dealership policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist management with technician performance evaluations, staffing needs, and process improvements.
  • Perform diagnostics or repairs when additional technical support is required.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Qualifications

    • Kia or Hyundai dealership experience.
    • Current Kia manufacturer certifications or equivalent factory training.
    • ASE certifications, including ASE Master Automobile Technician certification.
    • Experience with Kia diagnostic systems, warranty procedures, and technical resources.
    • Experience training or mentoring entry-level and apprentice technicians.
