Job Description

The Shop Foreman is responsible for managing warehouse inventory, maintaining equipment and tooling, supporting fabrication shop readiness, and organizing laydown yard materials and storage areas. This role ensures TEiC tools, trailers, safety equipment, and shop resources are properly tracked, maintained, and available to support project execution. The position works closely with Safety and Quality to ensure all safety and QA/QC requirements are maintained and consistently meet company standards.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain and organize the warehouse storage area for tools, consumables, and project materials.
  • Implement and manage inventory control processes, including stock in/out tracking.
  • Establish and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels for consumable and commonly used materials.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities for equipment, materials, and tools.
  • Develop and maintain tool trailer inventory logs and tracking systems.
  • Manage the trailer fleet, including maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance (PM) logs for all TEiC equipment requiring routine service.
  • Coordinate inspections and tracking for rigging equipment, ladders, electrical cords, and other safety items.
  • Maintain AED stations and first aid cabinets, ensuring inspections and supplies remain current.
  • Develop schedules for routine inspections of warehouse equipment and safety equipment.
  • Support warehouse housekeeping and material handling processes, including cardboard baler staging and waste management.

Fabrication Shop Support

  • Set up and stage shop machinery including welding machines, band saws, grinders, mills, lathes, iron workers, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain fabrication workstations including welding tables, rod ovens, gasket cutting stations, torch cutting areas, and mechanical tooling stations.
  • Organize welding consumables, machining consumables, and specialty tooling cabinets.
  • Maintain shop safety equipment including fire cabinets, welding curtains, oil containment, and waste storage.
  • Implement and maintain shop organization standards using a 6S methodology.
  • Coordinate routine and scheduled inspections for shop equipment and fabrication machinery.

Laydown Yard Management

  • Develop and maintain organized material storage systems for pipe, plate, angle iron, flat bar, and other materials.
  • Organize materials by type, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Establish designated storage areas for code welding materials.
  • Maintain organized areas for scrap metal, general waste, tool trailers, and shop driver trailers.
  • Build and maintain material storage racks and staging areas to support fabrication and project operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft office programs, (excel, word, email, etc.)
  • Experience supporting warehouse operations, fabrication shops, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tools, equipment, and material inventories.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain accurate tracking logs.
  • Knowledge of shop equipment, industrial tools, and fabrication shop environments.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting heavy mechanical environments.
  • Familiarity with rigging inspections, equipment maintenance tracking, and safety inspection processes.
  • Experience implementing inventory tracking systems or warehouse organization processes.
