TheShop FloorMechanicIwill be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, including Industrial Sewing Machines,according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.
About The Role:
Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting, and repairs to production equipmentand Sewing Machines
Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors and/or the Production Managerand Lead Mechanicin a timely manner
Communicate with Production Manager regarding any downtime or maintenance issues that may affect production
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
Perform planned preventative maintenance on production equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program and schedule
Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and tools
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments
Provide suggestions on improving sewing processes
Capable ofprogramming PS700/800,assist with line design
Capable ofTemplate design and implementationfor Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines
About You:
High School diploma/GED
5 years of Maintenance experience
Minimum 2 years experience working on Industrial Sewing Machines
Building trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipment
Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire Code
Able to create alternative solutions to problems
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Strong attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management skills
Basic computer skills in order to respond to email inquiries and place orders; MS Office and Excel
Must be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbs
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challenges
Excellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to evaluate options and generate solutions
Ability toprogramming PS700/800
Ability ofTemplate design and implementationfor Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machines
