Job Description

Using basic policies and procedures established in Paradise Gift Shop/Hotel, assist guests with purchases while maintaining a clean store appearance.

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • Walk up to guest, talk to them and assist guests with any item wanted. (Kneel to check items at a low point or use step ladder to pick up items from high point) and direct them to wherever they need to go.
  • Continuously walking/standing within guest proximity to provide immediate feedback on product knowledge, loss prevention and performing department operations for productivity.
  • Using cleaning equipment, kneel, stretch and bend to dust store while using step ladder to climb to higher location to pick up merchandise to hang, steam and ticket to place on sales.
  • Use basic procedures established in the Shop; communicate with guests to help them purchase items while still maintaining a clean store appearance.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Answer the multi-line telephone and provide information as needed.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice, answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc..
  • Respond to guest inquiries. Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within hotel guidelines.
  • Ability to listen effectively, read, write, speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions, to provide clear direction/guidance and to communicate with other employees/management.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total all other charges.
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • "CLEAN AS YOU GO" -- Keep your workstation neat and orderly, and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned, to adhere to standards.
  • Detailed recording keeping in English is required for logs and inspection sheets.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a positive manner, negotiate a compromise and implement a solution.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
  • Ability to operate store without direct supervision at all times.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
