Shop Assistant - Full-Time & Part-Time

SPAR Newcastle, Newcastle Service Station, Newcastle, Co. Dublin, is recruiting Shop Assistant (Full-Time & Part-Time) to join our fantastic team. If you are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

• Deliver excellent customer service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner

• Operate tills and handle cash transactions accurately in line with company procedures

• Assist customers with queries, purchases, and in-store promotions

• Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and housekeeping

• Receive, check, replenish, and rotate stock in accordance with company guidelines

• Support stock control activities, including stock takes and waste reduction

• Follow all health, safety, food safety, and HACCP procedures

• Prepare food products in line with company standards and food safety regulations

• Help prevent stock loss and ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and colleagues

• Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Store Manager

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Shop Assistant in a busy retail, forecourt, or convenience store environment

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Good numerical abilities and cash-handling skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Ability to use initiative and work independently when required

• Sound judgement with the ability to make decisions

• Self-motivated, reliable, and customer-focused

• Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
