Hiring Range: $65,457 - $78,540 Annually

Pima County Parks & Recreation is seeking an energetic, self-motivated leader to oversee shooting sports operations and shooting range activities. Bring your experience in shooting sports, range operations, and facility management to this exciting opportunity as our next Shooting Sports Operations Manager. In this position, you will oversee all aspects of the shooting sports program within Pima County. The Shooting Sports Operations Manager focuses on developing program goals, policies, and procedures, evaluating program effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position engages with the community to foster participation and administers program contracts and coordinates with various stakeholders and manages the program’s budget to support the overall mission and objectives.
This position may be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays. Schedule rotation may be required.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university or technical school in public or business administration, management, sports management or a related field as determine by the department head at the time of recruitment, AND four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in program management, including contract administration, budget oversight, community relations, or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
Two (2) years of experience with Pima County in a Shooting Sports Coordinator, Shooting Sports Supervisor, or a closely related position, as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.

Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Some positions may require completion of a satisfactory personal background investigation by the court or law enforcement agencies, due to the need for access to County Attorney and Court facilities, records, and communication systems.
