We are currently seeking a Shipping & Receiving Technician to join our Strathroy team. This position is on the afternoon shift, with hours to be determined. The initial schedule is expected to be 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the possibility of transitioning to 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. based on operational needs.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shipping/Receiving Technician will be responsible for receiving and shipping goods, using a forklift and other equipment necessary for loading. He will ensure compliance with operating procedures, as well as the achievement of production and quality standards. He will participate in continuous improvement projects and health and safety in operations

Key Responsibilities

• Validate the application of shipping processes (purchase order, receipt note, etc.);
• Load and unload goods and raw materials (finished products, steel, chemicals, rock wool, protective films, consumables, wood, etc.) according to appropriate methods;
• Pack parts in a way that prevents breakage during transport and ensure that the pallets used are compliant for shipments;
• Maximize transportation, respect loading plans as well as take photos for the client file;
• Ensure the maintenance of inventories in the ERP software at all times;
• Ensure good collaboration with related sectors (Production, Purchasing, Maintenance, Truckers/Carriers, etc.).
• Confirm parts lists in accordance with documents according to order preparation (if necessary, with the assistance of the converter);
• In collaboration with the panel convert, perform tasks related to the modification (as required);
• Take out the finished products while respecting the maturation times (accumulation zone);
• Perform functional maintenance at all times to ensure the smooth running of operations (forklift, cleaning of the warehouse and yard, etc.);
• Maintaining a clean work environment;
• Participate in and facilitate the exchange of information during inter-shifts;
• Participate in special projects, tasks related to continuous improvement / 5S;
• Perform sporadic duties for operational needs.

Required Education and Experience

2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or a similar role.

Forklift operating experience required (bi-directional forklift experience is an asset).

Basic computer skills.

Ability to read a tape measure and safely handle materials.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
