The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing daily outbound shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and cost‑effective delivery of customer orders. This role serves as the primary link between the warehouse, freight carriers, and internal teams to maintain smooth shipping operations and high service levels.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily outbound shipments, including parcel, LTL, and full truckload orders
Prepare and verify shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, labels, customs paperwork as required)
Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to schedule carrier pickups and communicate shipment details to carriers and internal stakeholders
Ensure orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company and carrier requirements
Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, damages, or delivery issues
Maintain accurate shipping records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computer systems
Verify freight bills and assist with freight claims as needed
Collaborate with warehouse teams to prioritize orders and adjust to changing volume or deadlines
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping accuracy, cost, and efficiency
Adhere to safety policies and standard operating procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
Working knowledge of common shipping methods (UPS, FedEx, LTL, FTL)
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Transportation Management System (TMS) business computer systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Clear communication skills and a customer‑service mindset
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Skills
Experience coordinating freight across multiple carriers
Familiarity with freight cost control and basic rate analysis
Experience in high‑volume distribution or manufacturing environments
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (if applicable)
