The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, on‑time movement of large industrial pump equipment and components into and out of our Leduc Quick Response Center. This is a high‑volume, fast‑paced repair facility (no manufacturing), where pumps can reach 50–60 feet in length and weigh many tons. You will manage the flow of incoming parts into inventory and outgoing repaired units to customers, supporting shipping, planning, sales, and operations. Workload can become extremely busy at month‑end and year‑end as we ship to meet customer demand and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Receive and unpack shipments, verify accuracy, and record all incoming materials
• Report discrepancies or issues with received goods to Inventory Control and the Buyer
• Process paper and digital shipping and receiving documentation for domestic and international suppliers and customers
• Receive incoming pumps and notify customers regarding required repairs
• Operate forklifts and cranes to move large, heavy equipment safely
• Build or prepare custom crates or boxes, including protective wrapping for pumps
• Coordinate pickups, track shipments, and troubleshoot issues with suppliers and shipping carriers
• Store materials in designated shelves and bins, keeping the warehouse clean and organized
• Pick orders quickly and accurately and support cycle counting
• Conduct periodic inventory reviews to maintain accurate stock levels
• Maintain organized and up‑to‑date paper files for easy retrieval
• Follow detailed procedures consistently and accurately
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Ability to work safely around very large, heavy equipment
• 3–5 years of relevant shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
• Forklift and crane operation experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds (23 kg)
Preferred:
• High School Diploma or HSE
• Awareness of pump conditions and service requirements
• Knowledge of warehouse management practices
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Forklift certification
• Experience with SAP
• Experience using online systems for FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers
