Stockroom Supervisor

Pay Range:

Swing Shift (1:30pm – 10:00pm) - $16.83 - $22.28/hour + 10% Shift Differential

Job Location:

Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is in Fremont, CA.

What you will be doing:

  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
  • Record receipt of incoming materials and equipment
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record and report shortages and discrepancies, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Route checked incoming materials, supplies or equipment to the stockroom, appropriate departments or other areas
  • Prepare products or materials for shipment
  • Assembly shipping containers and/or select pre-assembled containers, and inserts items to be shipped into containers, using spacers, fillers and protective padding
  • Close and seal packages to be shipped
  • Affix shipping label, identify information, and shipping instructions onto packed cartons or containers. Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Prepare bills of lading and maintain documentation of goods shipped
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Receive and label production material into back-stock stockroom location using internal software system
  • May be required to perform other duties

What you will bring along:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school/Associate degree a plus
  • Minimum 0-2 years of stockroom experience, including shipping & receiving
  • Must be able to lift minimum 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work overtime, as needed
  • Computer skills, data entry experience and proven working knowledge of computer usage (Word, Excel)
  • Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Well organized and able to work independently

Licensing/Certification/Registration

  • Must have current California driver’s license
  • Forklift Operator certification; or become certified within a reasonable time frame after hire

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse/stock area environment; adheres to required safety and dress standards to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, talk, and listen. May be required to sit, stand continually, walk for period of time; reach, climb, bend, stoop, and twist using full range of motion to perform normal stockroom duties; lift 25 to 50 pounds, and operate a computer and enter information using a keyboard, operate a telephone, and other office equipment for an extended period of time. As some visual inspection duties will also be required, specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to hot/cold conditions, high-volume noise, exposure to stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.), and/or hazardous materials such as chemicals (e.g. alcohol, acetone, acids, solvents and photo resist) or particulate matter.

May be requested to work overtime and weekends to suit operational needs.
