Job Location: Building 2 - Rothschild, WI 54474Position Overview:
Wausau Tile is seeking a Shipping – Yard & Loading team member. This position is responsible for material staging, loading products for shipment, and assisting with a variety of yard and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team while operating forklifts, loaders, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Staging:
- Retrieve materials from indoor or outdoor inventory using forklifts or loaders.
- Stage materials in production areas according to weekly schedules and pour requirements.
- Handle bulk materials (aggregates, liquids, oversized items) appropriately.
- Communicate with production, planning, and management to address material needs.
- Product Loading & Receiving:
- Load finished products onto flatbed trailers, containers, and cube vans.
- Use forklifts, hoists, and team lifting techniques for heavy items.
- Secure products to prevent damage during transport.
- Assist with receiving tasks as needed.
- Yard & Inventory Management:
- Maintain aggregate and raw material inventory levels using the MES system.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of materials, including winter aggregate storage.
- Order materials proactively based on production needs and visual checks.
- Waste Handling & Site Maintenance:
- Load dump trucks with waste materials such as broken tile, sample returns, and mixer washouts.
- Perform yard maintenance tasks such as grading, filling holes, and plowing snow.
- Bag aggregate for upcoming jobs and maintain cleanliness in the yard.
- General Support:
- Perform routine maintenance checks (oil, grease, cleanliness) on material handling equipment.
- Assist with other departments as workload shifts.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and support housekeeping duties.
