Job Description

This position provides shift leadership to warehouse and shipping operations within the Mauser Packaging Solutions, Large Packaging Division plant located in Addison, IL; technical and supervisory guidance is provided to hourly employees. The supervisor is responsible for the coordination of production and shipping to ensure loads are shipped correctly and timely. The supervisor is further responsible for safety, maintenance/repair of assigned equipment, quality, discipline, attendance, enforcement of plant rules, and other related areas in the efficient operation of the facility and department.

Pay Range: The salary is $67,000-$81,000 a year. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate's experience, work location, skills, etc.

The schedule for this role is: 2:50 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing shift leadership to plant warehousing/shipping employees to ensure quality and delivery performance for the plant.
  • Interact with other supervisors, operators, engineers, management, maintenance, customer service and customers.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, safety, housekeeping, and warehousing requirements.
  • Supervise the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving through shipping and returns.
  • Continuously measure/monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and focus on maintaining and improving operating efficiencies to include employee productivity.
  • Determine orders required to ship and generate shipping documents (pack list, bills of lading, commercial invoice, etc.).
  • Complete performance evaluations and perform continuous performance feedback to include disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Coordinate shipments and maintain/foster a cohesive working relationship with carriers.
  • Ensure data integrity within company enterprise systems such as TMC and SAP.
  • Manage manpower and resource limitations, maintain positive morale in the department, be fair and consistent with employees, and set challenging yet reasonable standards and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Must be experienced and have broad knowledge of production functions such as: shipping, receiving, inventory control, employee relations, and customer service.
  • Ability to use personal computer skills utilizing software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with QAD or other warehouse management systems.
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills along with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Capable of advanced problem solving and persistence to carry out job functions.
  • Able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Forklift/Power Industrial Truck
  • Self-starter

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on feet up to 12 hours per shift
  • Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, 90 plus degrees.

Site Specific:

  • Plant facility runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week consistently excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.
    • Base scheduled shift supervising is: 2nd shift Monday to Friday 2:50 pm to 11 p.m.
  • Salaried Exempt position, minimum 40 hours work schedule on site, available for after hour calls, or covering other supervisor’s time off.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
