Job Description

Sigvaris is currently looking for a Shipping Specialist I to join our team in Peachtree City, GA. As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping Specialist I is responsible for the support of the US domestic shipping market.

SHIFT:

• Monday to Friday - 1st shift: 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Must be able to stay later than 7:00 p.m. if needed to complete the work.

PAY PLUS BONUSES:

• $18.69 per hour with an increase every six months during the first year

• Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter.*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works carefully and methodically to ship all packages accurately and economically.

• Investigates discrepancies in tracking numbers issued and boxes actually received by the customer.

• Maintains proper documentation for end of the day close.

• Provide statistical reporting monthly to the Warehouse Manager.

• Trains and mentors substitute employees to ensure consistency of service.

• Recommends operations system improvements by analyzing process workflow and space requirements.

• Works effectively with other warehouse employees by accepting, completing, and handling off tasks.

• Maintains a good relationship with internal customers.

• Demonstrates the ability to deal with job complexity and is detail oriented.

• Responsible for communicating the daily transportation schedule to the various shipping vendors.

• Maintains a relationship with shipping vendors.

• Communicates relevant daily shipping workflow information between shifts.

• Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

o Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

• Demonstrates effective communication methods.

o Manager and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications.

o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.

o Checks and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.

o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.

• Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.

• Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.

• Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.

• Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.

Requirements

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:

• A college degree or equivalent education and experience.

• Must have more than two years of warehouse experience.

SKILLS:

• Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective relationships across the organization.

• Proven ability to find solutions that do not follow a conventional defined path.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills both verbal and written are critical.

• Excellent computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb (ladder) for extended periods of time in a non-temperature controlled environment.

• Ability to reach, stoop, kneel.

• Required to repetitively lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Required to repetitively lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds more frequently.

• Tolerance for heat and cold
