Wieland is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Manager. The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for the overall performance, compliance, and effectiveness of all shipping and receiving operations. This role provides leadership, direction, and accountability for the Shipping Supervisor and team, ensuring that systems, processes, staffing, and resources are aligned to meet business needs. The Manager focuses on operational oversight, performance management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, while supporting the Shipping Supervisor in executing daily activities. This role is located in Parsippany, NJ and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintain overall accountability for the performance, safety, compliance, and effectiveness of all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring alignment with business needs and customer requirements.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Shipping Supervisor, setting clear expectations and holding the role accountable for daily execution, accuracy, and service levels without duplicating responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety programs, DOT requirements, and regulatory obligations, including oversight of inspections, training, documentation, and corrective actions in coordination with Safety Coordinator.
• Monitor and drive performance against key metrics, including on time shipment, order accuracy, safety, compliance, labor efficiency, and data integrity; identify trends, address gaps, and implement improvements.
• Maintain visibility into operations through data, reporting, and regular floor presence, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved effectively.
• Oversee staffing, labor planning, and resource allocation to support production and shipping demands, coordinating cross functionally with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to align priorities and resolve constraints.
• Partner closely with Operations leadership to support production needs, including providing coverage or operational support in the absence of the Operations Supervisor when required.
• Maintain accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and organization of all shipping systems, documentation, and records through process oversight and auditing.
• Lead performance management, coaching, and development of the Shipping Supervisor and team, ensuring consistent application of expectations, discipline, and labor practices in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Serve as the escalation point for operational and employee issues, ensuring timely resolution, clear communication, and ownership of outcomes.
• Perform other related Shipping or Operations duties as assigned

Role Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role with accountability for team performance.
• Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing supervisors or lead level employees preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation compliance, and shipping operations.
• Experience in a union or collective bargaining environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive operational decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, allocate resources effectively, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to hold others accountable and drive results.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and operational data to support decision making and ensure compliance.
• This role operates in a combined office and production environment with frequent floor presence required.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to wear and work in required personal protective equipment.
