The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator ensures the efficient, accurate, and timely movement of goods within the Canton Product Distribution Center (PDC). This position plays a crucial role in coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting warehouse operations. Reporting to the Administrative Operations Manager, the Coordinator is responsible for trailer scheduling, system transactions, and cross-functional communication between logistics, quality, and warehouse teams.

What You Drive at DTNA

Shipping & Receiving Operations

  • Coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely processing in EWM and DView systems.
  • Oversee trailer scheduling and dock assignments to optimize workflow and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Verify shipping documents for accuracy, including packing lists, bills of lading, and invoices.
  • Partner with warehouse teams to ensure seamless material flow from receiving docks to inventory storage or outbound lanes.
  • Coordinate with Material Planning team and suppliers to troubleshoot all inbound receiving discrepancies.

Inventory Control & Data Accuracy

  • Work with inventory control teams to resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
  • Conduct audits of received goods and coordinate with quality teams to inspect shipments as needed.
  • Ensure vendor payment coordination by validating receipts and goods movements in SAP.

Operational Efficiency & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Act as a key liaison between warehouse, logistics, and administrative teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes and improve dock efficiency.
  • Monitor and report key metrics related to shipping and receiving, such as on-time shipment percentage and inbound accuracy.
  • Assist in system upgrades and process automation efforts to improve efficiency in shipping & receiving functions.

Compliance & Process Standardization

  • Ensure all shipping and receiving activities adhere to company SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and system records to support audits and compliance checks.
  • Enforce proper hazardous material handling and freight carrier compliance policies.

Core Functions

  • Logistics Coordination: Oversee inbound and outbound shipments with accuracy.
  • System Management: Utilize SAP EWM, DView, and other WMS platforms to track goods movement.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Support reconciliation of shipping and receiving records.
  • Process Optimization: Identify efficiency improvements in warehouse logistics.
  • Cross-Team Communication: Ensure smooth coordination between warehouse, quality, inventory, transportation, and material planning teams.

Key Duties

  • Schedule and track inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensure system transactions (EWM, DView) are accurate and completed on time.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and collaborate with warehouse and accounting teams.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance records for audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce wait times and increase shipment accuracy.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse coordination within a distribution center.
  • Experience working with SAP EWM, DView, or other WMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, inventory reconciliation, and freight documentation.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (SAP EWM, DView).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple shipments and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with warehouse staff, vendors, and logistics partners.
  • Analytical ability to track shipment accuracy and identify process gaps.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing operational needs.

Exceptional Candidate Might Have

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience in shipping/receiving workflows.
  • Experience in freight claim resolution and vendor invoice reconciliation.
  • Background in cross-dock logistics and high-volume distribution centers.
  • Prior experience managing compliance for international shipments or hazardous materials handling.
