This position is responsible for performing the basic functions to properly pick, pack, ship, and receive all products and materials for assigned location. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Must be able to plan and execute the functions independently with minimal supervision. May perform only certain shipping and/or receiving activities and be designated accordingly based on site/location. Cross training and substitution of other tasks as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
General
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel
• Greet drivers and/or customers upon entering the Shipping office
◦ Assist drivers/customers with issues within scope of knowledge and authority
◦ Confirm pickup number with Drivers and provide instruction for pickup
◦ Confirm delivery for receivables
• Type correspondence to carriers, customers, Shipping team, etc. in the form of e-mail, memos, letters, etc.
• Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines; continually check materials and orders to ensure accuracy
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment; maintain fork truck by completing proper inspection and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department

Shipping
• Prepare orders for shipment; retrieve materials and stage, wrap and strap skids as required or select pre-assembled orders
• Recommend method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, carriers, routes, and rates
• Affix shipping labels, identifying information, and shipping instructions onto packed orders, pallets, or containers; post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Load trucks, flatbeds, and/or containers; process all transfer paperwork
• Prepare shipping paperwork (domestic & international), bills of lading, and maintain documentation of orders shipped within Epicor to ensure accuracy
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Perform computer functions necessary to track various aspects of orders
• Operate fork truck or use hand truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements

Receiving
• Unload trucks, flatbeds, and/or containers
• Receive merchandise, check and sign delivery slips; print proper receiving/transfer documents and route incoming materials, supplies, or equipment to the appropriate department or area within the same day received
• Unpack/examine incoming shipments, record shortages and discrepancies; work directly with Purchasing team to resolve any discrepancies on deliveries
• Process receipts in Epicor within same day received
• Scan/attach receiving documentation per Purchasing SOP
• Receive Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA); work with Quality/Supply Chain to determine disposition

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
• English fluency (read, write, speak)
• 12-months fork truck experience required
• Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
• Read and understand units of measure
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Work well with others
• Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
• Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
• Computer proficiency (inventory, data entry, work orders, etc.) - experience with UPS and FedEx software preferred
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics below are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.

• Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.

Physical and Mental Demands:
The demands described are representative but not all inclusive of those demands that must be met by an employee (with or without a reasonable accommodation) to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling. Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
• Exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move object.
• Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment.
• Communicate effectively (write, speak) with supervisors and others on performance and safety concerns.
• Adequate hearing ability to receive work instruction and to respond to changes in work environment.
• Attention to detail to complete work assignments.
• Time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements.
