Job Description

Calspan is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the efficient flow of materials, equipment, and supplies throughout our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing materials for shipment, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and coordinating transportation logistics.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and excellent customer service.

As a key member of the Facilities team, you will help ensure that materials are received, stored, distributed, and shipped in a timely and efficient manner while supporting inventory control and maintaining organized shipping and receiving operations.

Responsibilities

  • Load and/or unload containers from carriers. Check materials and/or articles of all outgoing shipments against shipping orders for accuracy. Document and report any shortages, damaged or defective material shipped or received.
  • Properly build and pack boxes, crates or cartons for outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare accurate shipping documents.
  • Assists in determining method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent (preferably from a vocational or technical school)
  • 1+ years’ experience in a plant and facilities environment

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Use a computer as needed for email, internet information and use Microsoft Office documents to create entries and maintain an electronic log of incoming and outgoing packages
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Fork lift certification

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications. Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
