Position: Shipping Manager

Reports to: Logistics Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Manager to ensure accurate, timely, and condition-appropriate delivery of live goods. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. The Shipping Manager will be responsible for order fulfillment and accuracy, on-time delivery, staff supervision, and ensuring shipping and dock efficiency, safety, and accuracy.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, the ability to optimize shipping processes, and excellent coordination across departments. Bi-lingual ( English and Spanish) speaking is preferred to facilitate communication with all team members and truck drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders

· Ensure 100% order accuracy through standardized verification, staging, and final check procedures

· Utilize TMS/ERP systems to manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc.

· Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment

· Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders

· Supervise and lead the Logistics Team ( shipping clerks, order pickers, loaders etc.)

· Control budget of the shipping department

· Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes

· Investigate and resolve shipping errors, shortages, damages, or mis-shipments

· Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies

· Lead, schedule, and develop shipping team members

· Enforce accountability while fostering a culture of urgency, care, and precision

· Report to management on activities and issues

Requirements

· 3–5+ years of shipping or logistics leadership experience ( live goods, perishable, or time-sensitive products strongly preferred)

· Proven experience as shipping manager

· Solid knowledge of logistics procedures

· Experience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents ( e.g. ASN)

· Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office ( especially Excel)

· Good understanding of budgeting and reporting

· Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates

· Excellent organizational and communication skills

· Strong attention to detail and process discipline

· Problem-solving abilities

· Flexible schedule to support peak shipping periods and seasonal demands

· High school diploma

· BS/BA in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plus

· Ability to work in a warehouse and dock environment with Florida temperature variation
