Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of shipping supplies.
  • Organize and schedule truckloads with carriers and customers.
  • Monitor shop order progress to create daily and next day shipping lists.
  • Prepare daily shipping paperwork and lists using computer and manual forms.
  • Pick stock shipments.
  • Close out shipping bills.
  • Communicate with Sales, Customers, and Logistics companies as needed.
  • Load planning for truckload and LTL shipments and Target Freight, and maintain good working relationships with freight suppliers.
  • Attend any productions meetings in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Understand the ISO system and elements that affect the job.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proficient with Windows-based computer applications.
  • UPS & other shipping equipment and processes.
  • Electronic scale.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years job experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Must be fluent with ERP system as relevant to position.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Thorough and attentive to detail in all job tasks and proactive toward continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Ability to analyze problems and find effective solutions.
  • Ability to work with all types of people and operate effectively in a team setting.
