Job Description

Primary Responsibilities for the Shipping Coordinator:

  • Responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming materials, supplies, and products.
  • Receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment, and inspects condition.
  • Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used.
  • Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
  • May route incoming items within the company as directed.

Required for the Shipping Coordinator:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience (shipping, material handling or administrative support).

Preferred for the Shipping Coordinator:

  • Problem Solving: Solves routine problems by using standard procedures and/or processes.
  • Customer Response: Responds to standard requests from internal or external customers.
  • Planning and Organizing: Manages own time to meet deadlines through guidance of others within a specified timeframe.
  • Teamwork: Works with others within own area or department to achieve team goals; scope of basic knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
