Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the shipment of IFS products in an efficient, accurate, and cost-effective manner. This position works closely with Customer Service, Production, and Warehouse personnel to ensure orders are shipped on time and meet customer requirements.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedule and coordinate all outbound freight shipments, including TL, LTL, parcel, and customer pickups.
  • Review and prepare open sales orders for shipment using the WiSys ERP system.
  • Generate and distribute all shipping documentation, including pick tickets, bills of lading, packing slips, export documentation, and other required shipping documents.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Production, and Warehouse personnel to ensure customer orders are completed and shipped on schedule.
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments and customer returns for accuracy.
  • Schedule carrier appointments and communicate with freight carriers regarding pickups, deliveries, and shipment status.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve shipping issues to minimize delays.
  • Support inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, staged, and shipped accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain shipping records and documentation in accordance with company policies and ISO requirements.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping and warehouse processes.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, answering carrier inquiries, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 2–3 years of supply chain experience, with a concentration in shipping and receiving.
  • Recent experience operating a sit-down forklift required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and effectively use ERP systems and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required to wear all designated personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and use hands and arms throughout an 8-hour shift or longer as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where noise levels are frequently loud.
